Household hazardous waste disposal in Illinois is done in line with guidelines set by the Illinois Department of the Environment. Items in the below list of "acceptable" household hazardous wastes, may be brought to the following site, during the weekend hours indicated, year round:

In addition to this permanent site, the City of Chicago, suburban Cook County, and each of the other Illinois counties in northeastern Illinois, has twice yearly hazardous household waste collections, which are done at rotating sites, on varying dates.
